YOUR VOICE MATTERS TO THOSE WHO NEED IT MOST.
This Mississippi girl moved to the Valley 10 years ago and has had her hand in a little bit of everything-- but “all the things” made sense! She has a great passion for youth, the liberation of Black women, racial justice, HBCU(Historically Black Colleges and Universities) advocacy, educating and volunteering with teen girls of color, and all things Arts related.
Ebone’s love of the arts began at a very early age where she was inspired by her mom’s entrepreneurial skills and her fathers love for carpentry which sparked the artist within. It took 20 years but she was able to dive headfirst into the arts scene in Phoenix. First as a thrift store owner (Rejected Thrifts) then renamed Modern Day Muse (the Muse part kinda stuck lol) to pre-covid being the owner of Your Art Party a Paint and Sip business hosting in-studio, private, and pop up paint experiences around the Greater Phoenix area. Since covid, Muse has decided to pivot and thus MuseTease Prints was born.

Where Creativity Meets Sustainability
When I first moved to Arizona in 2013, I was on a mission to bring together cultural events that celebrated Black voices and experiences in the Southwest. My passion for building community fueled these events, where art, culture, and history came together, creating a powerful platform for self-expression and collective healing.

Paint and Passion Collide
In 2017, I decided to take my love for art and community a step further by opening Your Art Party, a paint-and-sip studio that proudly employed four Black women artists. It wasn’t just a business; it was a celebration of Black women’s creativity and entrepreneurship. The studio became a lively space where people could unwind, express themselves, and connect with others in a supportive and fun environment.

Amplifying Black Women’s Voices
In 2018, I co-founded Venus Clapback, a Phoenix-based podcast with another Southern woman, where we focused on the experiences of Black women in the Southwest. This podcast was our way of sharing our unique perspectives, challenging stereotypes, and amplifying the voices of Black women in a region where our stories often go unheard.

From Paintbrush to Pixels
When the pandemic hit in 2020, I pivoted to digital illustration and launched MuseTease Prints, an online platform where I could continue creating despite the challenges. Through MuseTease, I explored themes of identity, empowerment, and beauty, offering apparel, art, and home goods that resonated with a global audience.

The Culmination Of A Creative Journey
By 2022, I brought everything together with Centered.PHX, a storytelling experience that puts the Black experience front and center. This project is the culmination of my journey as an artist, curator, and storyteller, weaving together all the elements that have driven my work over the years.

A Legacy of Creativity and Community
Each step in my journey—from Rejected Thrifts to Centered.PHX—has combined to create what I call the Muse Affect: a commitment to creativity, community, and the power of storytelling that leaves a lasting impact.
